**Our Journey**:
P Block is a 31 Bed unit which sits within the Adult Bed Based Service under the Mental Health program at Monash Medical Centre Clayton. The service provides short term inpatient management and treatment during an acute phase of mental illness, through until management within the community is a safe option.

With the provision of a range of therapeutic interventions and programs, both patients and families are able to learn about the impact of illness and explore ways to better manage within their environment with coping strategies as they move toward recovery.

**A Day in the Life**:
As a Grade 2 Social Worker you will work with adult inpatients with varying degrees of acute psychiatric or mental illness and/or drug and alcohol dependency problems. You will be a valued member of the psychiatric care team consisting of Allied health including a Senior Social Worker, Nursing and Medical practitioners.

Mental health care is more challenging now than it has ever been, and we all know it. The team at P block knows it too, and we will not let it stop us in our journey. We are a dedicated, hardworking and passionate group of mental health staff who have consciously decided to take it all on, together and united, with a good laugh and a bit of fun thrown in whenever we can.

We are ultimately focused on the future of mental health inpatient care and are learning and improving what we do every day.
