About Us:
Founded in 2001, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is Australia’s largest human rights organisation providing support to people seeking asylum. We are an independent not-for-profit organisation whose programs support and empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social well being. We champion the rights of people seeking asylum and mobilise a community of compassion to create lasting social and policy change.

We are a values-driven organisation that strives to be part of a change movement that supports people seeking asylum by providing critical services such as assistance with accommodation, food, medical and legal services.

The ASRC movement is proudly supported by a community of committed volunteers and supporters who embrace the organisation’s vision that people seeking asylum can live safely, sustainably, independently and equally.

About the Role:
The ASRC is seeking a strategic and creative campaigner to lead powerful, values-driven campaigns that shift narratives and drive systemic change for people seeking asylum. Reporting to the Head of Refugee Leadership and Advocacy, the Campaigns Lead will design and deliver impactful multi-channel campaigns that engage the public, influence policy outcomes, and centre lived experience. This is a dynamic parental leave cover (until 18th May 2026) role that combines digital strategy, community mobilisation, and cross-sector collaboration to advance the ASRC’s mission for justice and human rights.

Key Accountabilities:

- Develop and implement strategic, values-driven campaigns aligned with ASRC’s advocacy priorities.
- Manage digital campaign platforms, including supporter journeys, landing pages, segmentation, automation, and performance testing.
- Conduct research and power analysis to inform campaign strategy, messaging, and advocacy target engagement.
- Ensure meaningful inclusion of people with lived experience in campaign development and delivery.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners to co-create collaborative, cross-sector campaigns.
- Recruit, train, and support a team of campaign volunteers, fostering a culture of learning and impact.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on campaign performance using data and insights to inform continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across teams and departments to integrate campaign efforts with wider organisational goals and opportunities.

Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

- Proven experience developing and implementing effective campaign strategies with clear, measurable targets
- Strong skills in campaign communications, including crafting persuasive messages within political or advocacy contexts
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of creating engaging and impactful content
- Demonstrated expertise in managing and optimising social media channels for advocacy and community engagement
- Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment
- In-depth understanding of the policy environment affecting asylum seekers, including visa categories and systemic barriers in Australia

Desirable Skills & Experience:

- Lived experience of seeking asylum
- Knowledge of the policy development process and experience with issues-based advocacy
- Proficiency with NationBuilder, Salesforce, or similar CRM and digital campaign platforms
- Experience in recruiting, managing, and supporting volunteers
