**The Opportunity
As the head of Business Development, you will have a passion for driving sales, chasing opportunities, and closing deals The focus of this role is to lead portfolio growth for Bupa through the strategic acquisition of Corporate Partnerships.

This is a national role and will develop a strategic pipeline of key clients and establish new opportunities through networking and building relationships with senior stakeholders. You will be focusing on strongly collaborating with the Go to Market and Marketing team to think strategically to strengthen Bupa’s thought leadership credentials and drive growth through our work health proposition.

You will play a pivotal role in being a leader of 2 National Acquisitions managers, whilst also getting out in the community and building strong relationships internally with stakeholders.

**This is a permanent full-time position and can be based in either Melbourne or Sydney. (The role would require interstate travel)**

**How will I help?**

**You will add value by**:

- Drive a new business development strategy to secure sustainable new commercial relationships
- leading tender responses and large
- scale, complex sales propositions to C-suite stakeholders
- Provide sector and emerging market business intelligence through more focussed sector engagement and identifying strategic opportunities for corporate partnerships
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with all potential partners
- Provide well-rounded leadership skills with advanced stakeholder skills to influence internal and external stakeholders to influence strategic outcomes
- Influence product development and marketing initiatives to support new business acquisition
- Champion change throughout the business to increase Bupa’s capacity and capability to accelerate change for competitive advantage
- Build, coach and sustain the capability of the New Business Corporate Sales team

**What do I need?**

Firstly, sales, driving acquisition and thinking strategically are in your DNA. You are a master of sales and closing deals whilst also working with our stakeholders and internal teams to create extraordinary business growth outcomes. You are adaptable to changing circumstances and can deal with ambiguity by making positive changes.

**You will be/have**:

- Demonstrated experience executing new business partnerships and external relationship management strategies
- You have proven experience in identifying and leading commercial opportunities, including experience in partnering with key functional leaders/leadership teams and closing the loop on new deals.
- Ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders through to c suite level
- Established senior connections within the corporate market
- Good understanding of health insurance, within the private health insurance corporate market will be considered an asset.
