The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Finance Officer to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Support the Divisional Finance Manager and Principal Divisional Finance Officer to deliver meaningful budgets, forecasts, variance analysis and reports that clearly align divisional financial performance against purchased activity and targets
- Need to understand the requirements for policy, systems, processes and culture to operate in an Activity Based Funding environment
- Assist in the development and maintenance of procedures for the capturing of cost and pricing data, actively monitoring and analysing clinical activity levels, costing data and resource utilisation targets using case mix and financial data
- Utilise proven analytical and financial management skills with the ability to collate and analyse data, identify issues, assess options, and prepare reports rapidly and accurately
- Ensure that all revenue available to the Division and Executives, by way of grants, cost recoveries and service/patient charges are identified in the division's revenue base
- Have proven ability to work in a high-pressure environment with the ability to effectively prioritise conflicting work commitments

About you

**To be successful in this position you will require**:

- While not mandatory, a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Business, Finance or Commerce would be well regarded
- While not mandatory, an understanding of the regulatory environment and context in which a statutory body and health service works would be well regarded
- Evidence of vaccination and remain vaccinated against - COVID 19
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be completed

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $81 534 - $89 828 per annum

About Us
The Financial Services Division supports the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service by providing expert and timely financial services. The Division is made up of Divisional Finance Teams, Financial Reporting and Compliance, Financial Performance, Commercial Innovation and Performance Analysis and Reporting Unit. This role is based within the Divisional Finance Team for Emergency and Specialty Services. Based in Southport.
