With the customer at the heart of everything we do, Sustainability Manager at IKEA Australia takes responsibility for integration and implementation of the Ingka Sustainability Strategy - People & Planet Positive. You are the voice and influencer of sustainability both internally and externally, sitting close to the business where decisions are made. We are looking for a strong and dynamic leader who has the ability to work through and across the business, both strategically and operationally. You will facilitate the ongoing transformation and growth of the IKEA business, where we have set the ambitious goal to be climate positive latest by 2030
**Responsibilities**:
As Sustainability Manager for IKEA Australia, the main purpose of the role is to be the engine and catalyst in the organisation to create strong movement towards reaching our sustainability ambitions and goals. The challenge is to balance and merge environmental, social and economic aspects to make business within the limits of the planet. You will also be responsible for, but not limited to;
- Responsible for the integration and implementation of the sustainability People and Planet Positive Strategy.
- Integrate the sustainability agenda across markets, customer meeting points and units.
- Be an effective external and internal spokesperson, participate in advocacy activities, events, networking and empower others to become sustainability spokespersons.
- Secure positive impact on local communities where IKEA operates through and co-create with identified key local stakeholders.
- Secure country adaption of the global direction and continually maintain an outside perspective, following trends, topics and future thinking.
Together as a team
Country Sustainability secures the integration and implementation of the Ingka sustainability strategy - People & Planet Positive, by both putting demands on the business and being a competent sustainability business partner, while securing local relevance. You are the voice and influencer of sustainability both internally and externally, sitting close to the business where decisions are made.

This role is permanent full time, based in Service Office, Tempe NSW.
