**About the business and the role**

LAF Contracting NSW Pty Ltd is a long established manufacturer and installer of passive fire protection products and services nationally.

We are currently seeking a solid plasterer to work for us in our Sydney business, reporting to the Projects and Construction Manager.

**Job tasks and responsibilities**

You will be offered a full time wage position and be required to work on various new construction sites as well as existing buildings. Pay upon commencement will be salary + legislative Super. Overtime work will at times be available for night shift and/or weekend work.

You will generally work in pairs and examples of some of the work you may be required to do include:
By way of the following duties:

- Mixing of plaster to desired consistency
- Spread plaster coating and smooth with darby
- Roughen undercoat to provide bond for succeeding coats of plaster

Other responsibilities may include:

- To seek direction from technical staff and study specifications as well as plan procedures for construction on the basis of start and completion times for each phase of construction
- Liaises with management to ensure orders and procurement of tools and materials are processed on time and subsequently organises delivery (personally or through third party personnel if available) at specified times to conform to work schedules.
- Confers with LAF Staff to properly coordinate all phases of construction to prevent delays.
- Confers with LAF Staff to resolve complaints and grievances within the work force.
- Confers with LAF staff and suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
- Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to LAF tested specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
- Confers with supervisors to report on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.

**Skills and Experience**

One year certificate from college or technical school; 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

It is expected that you are able to read, write and speak English clearly so as to be able to effectively communicate with others on the project. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organisation.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include colour vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Will be a benefit to hold your driver’s licence, scissor lift licence and boom lift licence.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
