**About the Commission**
The **Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission**is an independent statutory body with responsibilities under Victoria's key human rights laws - the _Equal Opportunity Act 2010_, the _Racial and Religious Tolerance Act 2001_, the _Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006_ and the _Change and Suppression Practice Prohibition Act 2021_.

**About the Role**
The Finance Officer position will play a key role in supporting the financial health and integrity of the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission (the Commission) by ensuring accurate recording, monitoring and of financial transactions. The Finance Officer role contributes to maintaining financial compliance with internal policies and relevant financial regulations.
Reporting to the Manager, Finance, the Finance Officer is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial management of the Commission by delivering various financial management activities including, accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchase orders and invoice management in accordance with accounting standards and internal policies

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Excellent attention to detail, strong numerical and analytical skills and the ability to process financial data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative mindset and proactive attitude towards learning.
- Well-developed financial literacy skills and experience in the government sector or related industry would be highly regarded.
**Qualifications**
- An appropriate business or finance related qualification is required.
- A professional accounting qualification (CPA or CA) is highly desirable but not mandatory.
