This is a new position in a privately owned Australian logistics company who has been in operation since 1972, they provide a high level of services as a specialised supplier of transport, storage and supply chain services.

Reporting to the Operations Manager the purpose of this position is to ensure jobs, equipment and staff are organised on a daily basis to meet their daily service requirements, including KPI’s and reports through effective scheduling and the establishment of productive relationships with customers. Also participate in customer communication and industry forums to ensure customer service obligations are met consistently, future growth opportunities are realised and the business is promoted.

Key Responsibilities will include:

- Ensure all transport clerical administrative tasks are fulfilled with emphasis on the Translogix system.
- Participate in group meetings as directed by the Operations Manager. Cooperate with regulators and internal and external auditors
- Participate in all accident and incident and NCR reporting for the cost centre including all relevant forms and registers completed and records managed within the context of incident, accident, NCR, document control policies and procedures. Also, participate in all regulatory requirements including audits of the facility.
- Maintain a supervisory overview of safety practices, intervening to support staff and contractors where required. Participate and work effectively with the OHSE/ QA department and participate in education, training in Safety, Quality and Environment management system, Promote and lead “zero harm” as the core value of the business.
- Proactively identify potential issues or scope for improvement in area of responsibility and work effectively with key staff in documentation of improvements, development and implementation to support continuous improvement objectives.
- 5-7 years experience in transport management including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Computer literate, including MS Office suite.
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
- Good knowledge of the transport industry, materials handling and warehousing.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
