**Role**:
The Assistant Coordinator and Educational Leader is responsible for supporting the OSHC Coordinator in the management and delivery of a high-quality Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) program. This role involves leading the educational program, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all school aged children that attend the program.
**Responsibilities**:
**Program Development and Implementation**:
Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of a diverse and engaging OSHC program that meets the needs and interests of all children.
Lead and supervise educational activities, ensuring they are age-appropriate, stimulating, and aligned with the educational goals of the school.
Collaborate with educators and provide curriculum direction and guidance.
Support educators to effectively implement the cycle of planning to enhance programs and practices.
Lead the development and implementation of an effective educational program in the service.
Ensure children¿s learning and development are guided by the learning outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework and the My Time, Our Place Framework for School Age Care.
**Leadership and Team Management**:
Provide leadership and guidance to OSHC staff, promoting a positive and collaborative team environment.
Assist in the recruitment, training, and mentoring of new staff members.
Contribute to regular team meetings and staff performance evaluations.
Manage staff to achieve expected outcomes, resolving issues with mínimal reference to senior management, except in complex cases.
Act as the responsible person in charge in the OSHC Coordinator¿s absence
**Regulatory Compliance and Safety**:
Ensure all OSHC activities comply with relevant regulations, including the National Quality Framework (NQF) and the National Law and Regulations.
Maintain accurate records and documentation, including attendance, incident reports, medical records, and health and safety checks.
Implement and monitor safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for children, staff, and visitors.
**Family and Community Engagement**:
Foster positive relationships with children, families, and the wider school community.
Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers about their child¿s progress, activities, and any concerns.
Organise and participate in OSHC community events and activities that promote the OSHC service.
**Continuous Improvement**:
Evaluate the effectiveness of the OSHC program and identify areas for improvement.
Contribute to the service¿s Quality Improvement Plan.
Stay informed about current trends and best practices in early childhood education and care.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
