**About the Role**

**This is a Fixed Term Position until 19 November 2025**

The incumbent will be required to provide valuation advice and undertake complex, urgent and sensitive valuations for compulsory acquisition purposes. Developing a strong working relationship with both internal and external stakeholders is essential.

**Position Outcomes / Accountabilities**
- Undertake valuations for government agencies and public sector clients, ensuring compliance with valuation standards and timely delivery.
- Provide expert advice on valuation policy, particularly in the area of compulsory acquisition, to client organisations and the government.
- Support infrastructure valuation projects through property research and strategic advice.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of policies and procedures for delivering valuation services, including the VGV Quality Management System (QMS).

The Department of Transport and Planning is looking for a skilled Valuer to support government agencies and public sector clients with property valuations and strategic advice. This role involves delivering timely valuations, advising on policy, and improving valuation standards.

You will work on infrastructure projects, advise on compulsory acquisition, and build strong relationships with stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes. We're seeking someone who can influence effectively, embrace innovation, and leverage digital tools to improve operations.

**Qualifications and Experience**

**Mandatory**
- Completion of an approriate tertiary qualification with Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) status and membership with the Australian Property Institute (API)
- Knowledge of the Valuation of Land Act 1960, Land Acquisition and Compensation Act 1986, Planning and Environment Act 1987 and other relevant legislation.
- Knowledge of the government processes and land administration matters.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 certification.
