We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.
- The Transit Lounge is open Monday to Friday from 7 am to 7:30 pm and provides care for patients being discharged from inpatient beds, patients awaiting admission from outpatient clinics and patients awaiting transport.
- We are looking for a Ward Clerk with administrative experience to join our team, providing a professional and caring customer focused service for our patients and their families, visitors, and patient transport providers.
**Your new role**:
- As first point of contact, take responsibility for the clerical and receptionist duties of the department, including coordinating the physical and telecommunication traffic throughout the area.
- Welcome and undertake identification of patients entering the Transit Lounge, ensuring accurate data entry into patient records and databases, including admission, discharge and transfer details.
- Coordinate transport bookings across the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
- Liaise with nursing, medical and ancillary staff, hospital departments, patients, carers and members of the public.

- You have relevant clerical experience with great administrative and IT skills.
- You demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a professional telephone manner.
- You are motivated to provide patient focused customer service with a willingness to learn new skills.
- You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and work well within a multidisciplinary team.
