**About the Assignment**
The primary objective of this position is to provide civil project engineering support to the onshore development business to facilitate safe and timely delivery of and ongoing program of civil development works including water storage dams, well pads, roads, hardstands and other oil & gas production facilities.
**Tasks include**:
- Develop & review engineering and execution scopes for civil projects
- Engage with internal stakeholders in Development, Operations and Drilling & Completions to define problems & develop scope
- Manage external engineering contractors and execution contractors to ensure delivery is aligned with business objectives with respect to schedule, budget and quality
- Ensure that projects are implemented in such a manner that all internal and applicable regulatory, safety and environmental standards and requirements are satisfied; properly scoped, engineered, planned and approved
- Drive continuous improvement to the design and project implementation process
- Support delivery of detailed cost estimates and annual budgets for project scope and associated infrastructure
- Perform regular field visits for construction operations to review and advise on progress, and improve operational efficiency
- Compliance with the Santos Management System (SMS)
- Compliance with the Santos Delegation of Authority (DOA)
- Compliance with the Santos Corporate Governance and Safety requirements
This assignment is initially offered for 12 months, engaged via Chandler Macleod.
Location for this assignment is Brisbane office, working full-time office hours, with some requirement for travel.
**About You**
- 5+ years’ experience in engineering & construction projects with heavy civil/structural components such as blasting, piling and foundations, water storage facilities (tanks & dams)
- Experience in civil/structural projects involving watercourse crossings e.g culverts & bridges
Desired experience for this position includes:
- Experience in civil projects involving protection of sensitive environmental receptors
- Experience in civil-environmental restoration projects
- Oil & gas, mining or infrastructure sector experience
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering and or project management
