As Automation Tester, you will develop and maintain system automation routines, including conversion existing manual tests into automated PowerShell test scrips and work closely with the technical teams within the team and wider division. This role provides a significant contribution to enhancing overall capacity to meet the information technology needs of the program.

To succeed in this endeavour, you will be responsible for:

- Requirements gathering and analysis
- Development, build and maintenance of system automation routines
- Development, maintain, and run automated test scripts use PowerShell
- Converting existing manual test into automated PowerShell test scripts
- Working closely with Test, Engineering and Support teams
- Creation and peer review of Standard Operating Procedure documentation (SOPs), build guides and related artefacts.
- PowerShell Automation: use PowerShell to create scripts and tools for automating tasks like system configuration, deployment, and data processing.
- PowerShell Pester v5: Developing tests with PowerShell Pester to validate the functionality and performance of the automation code.
- HP ALM Integration: Creating a test automation framework to integrate PowerShell tests with HP ALM for seamless execution, result capture, and Report

Our work is highly complex and confidential, so there are some things you must have to fulfil this role:

- You must have and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance and ability to upgrade to NV2
- Excellent scripting and knowledge of PowerShell, SQL, IaC, version control systems, yaml, pwsh, python)

We’re also looking for experience with:

- Proven experience with WINTEL technologies
- Excellent knowledge of GitHub, DevOps tools and methodologies
- Excellent knowledge of modern software development practises
- Experience using Application Lifecycle Manager (ALM)
- Test automation experience
- Excellent people skills and can communicate technical solutions and issues to all levels.
- Independently motivated, driven and collaborative with both internal and external parties.
