In the role of Principal Advisor, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting the delivery of a multi-modal approach in the development of freight, strategies, plans and policies to inform and influence policy, planning and investment decisions that support an integrated, resilient and safe multi-modal freight system for Queensland's economy and communities.

**Accountabilities include**:

- Develop and provide strategic advice and/or briefings on freight and supply chain issues and challenges, and emerging national, state and local government freight planning, policy and related initiatives.
- Ensure the timely development and implementation of freight strategies and policies in response to government priorities and direction that enhance the efficiency, development and integration of the multi-modal freight system in Queensland.
- Prepare and review executive-level briefing notes, ministerials, reports, submissions, business cases and other correspondence in accordance with departmental standards.
- Manage specific multi-modal freight and broader supply chain activities and/or projects that deliver on government priorities and departmental strategies.
- Work with local, state and federal governments and industry to ensure the planning, development and operation of Queensland's multi-modal freight system reflects and supports emerging freight needs, industry productivity and economic development.
- Liaise with freight industry stakeholders to identify emerging freight and supply chain issues and trends.
- Liaise with, and influence key internal Transport and Main Roads' staff and external government agencies (federal, state and local) which share responsibilities and interests in the management of the Queensland multi-modal freight system to ensure alignment of the state's freight policies and strategies.
- Build, foster and promote productive partnerships whilst working across teams to deliver effective freight and supply chain outcomes.
- Foster an environment that values performance, continuous improvement and effective delivery of quality advice and analysis.
- Model quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
- Actively participate in performance conversations to build and support a culture of performance improvement.
