We're seeking a **Head of Operational Risk & Compliance** with strong experience in managing operational and compliance risk activities in consumer or commercial finance. As a key partner to the business, you will have a growth mindset and drive the maturity of risk management in a young organisation and a proven track record operating in an unstructured environment, driving initiatives and supporting the business in the delivery of financing solutions to our customers. You will be strategically focussed, yet have an ability to to get into details and be able to lead and enhance the capabilities of the broader team.

You will be responsible for ensuring all external regulatory frameworks and internal policies are complied with by the business within reasonable risk and parameters.

You will support the Chief Risk Officer in accountability for the risk function across the organisation and based in our Sydney CBD office.

**Your role**:

- Enhancing and maintaining the Risk Management framework, policy statements and methodology, ensuring it is aligned with industry best practice.
- Providing independent reports to Executives, and Management with respect to the overall progress of Risk Management in the organisation.
- Ensuring staff are suitability equipped to cope with the growing complexity of Risk across the organisation's operations. This involves partnering closely with the business to identify and mitigate control weaknesses and using technology to improve drive a commercial approach to risk.
- Assessing and evaluating operational policies and procedures to achieve the identified risk management objectives and recommended improvements where necessary.
- Oversee the business' Vendor Audit program, review and testing of key business controls.

**What you bring**:

- Strong understanding of the finance industry, particularly Asset Finance or commercial lending in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Strategic, proactive approach to risk management with strong communication and stakeholder management skills as well as experience leading a team.
- Highly organised with the ability to thrive in a challenging and varied workload.
- Analytical, problem solving skills and decision making abilities.
- Strong knowledge of AML, financial crime, lending practices and associated regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or relevant field.
