Project Procurement Specialist - Major Projects Experience
Exciting newly created role for a Project Procurement Specialist to work on a new Processing Plant for mid-sized resources client.
**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Superintendent, the Project Purchasing Specialist is responsible for ensuring that major capital equipment for engineering packages are procured efficiently.
This will typically include large scale mechanical equipment, structural steel, piping, valves etc.
The primary responsibilities include:
- Requesting quotations, evaluating bids, negotiating, and evaluating proposals from Suppliers and Contractors.
- Negotiating and the award of a variety of Capital Equipment orders; Consultancy Agreements; Rental or Lease Agreements; orders for the provision of mechanical, electrical, or other trades labour performed on a lump sum or schedule of rates basis; lower-level mechanical, electrical, civil, construction or capital works contracts.
- Professionally prepare accurate Request for Quote (RFQ) summaries and purchase order documents.
- Proactive expediting of department Purchase Orders.
- Assisting with invoice queries to ensure prompt payment to vendors.
- Effectively utilising the computerised procurement systems, with specific emphasis on contractor/supplier performance.
- Resolve problems with resource allocation priorities, time constraints, contracts, vendor performance, payment release, transport, and logistics.
Required:
- Experience in Major Capital Project Procurement
- Competent in usage of Excel Spreadsheet, and other MS Suites
- Experience in the use of ERP systems (ideally SAP).
Preferences for
- Experience in construction in the oil and gas, chemical processing or mining and manufacturing industry
- Local Australian experience
- Basic understanding of account processing and related ERP Modules/ systems.
This role is based in the Client’s project office, which is in Perth CBD and does offer some work from home once you are up and running.
The project is expected to last in excess of 12 months. A rate in the region of $80 - $110 + super is on offer depending on your level of experience.
