This role may be based out of one of our hubs across Australia (Melbourne, Adelaide, and Brisbane).
**Key responsibilities**
- Lead small projects as the main contact for the project team from initial project phase through to delivery of project deliverables.
- Support the technical lead on complex projects and proposals.
- Assist in completing reports for all stages of the project from conception to completion.
- Ensure consistency in accuracy and timely output of work.
- Conduct economic and financial analysis, modelling, and strategy development.
- Deliver advisory services, including cost-benefit analysis, regulatory economic advice, and policy evaluation.
- Develop meaningful and innovative ideas, solutions, and strategies for our clients.
- Support Ricardo’s project teams to deliver exceptional results across multiple sectors and industries.
- Report any project issues to your respective Team Leader, Project Director and Directors of the business so that client relations can be addressed early.
- Continually strive to improve technical knowledge and encourage team technical discussions.
- Provide input into business development strategies and initiatives to further grow the business.
- Take an active interest in the other business units within Ricardo to further develop your specialist skills.
**Key competencies and experience**
- Minimum Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Economics or a related field.
- Consultant (2+ years) relevant experience in a similar role within a consulting or professional services environment will be valuable.
- Experience supporting multiple projects with competing demands.
- Proven track record of contributing high-quality work.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, and ability to learn new systems and software quickly.
**Skills and behaviours**
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; able to produce high quality reports as well as communicate confidently with a variety of clients and stakeholders.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Well-developed customer service capabilities with the ability to develop and nurture stakeholder relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Team player, able to provide support to the wider team on projects.
- Growth mindset and willingness to learn and improve expertise.
- Self-motivated with a desire to achieve high standards.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent project management and client relationship skills.
- Interest in strengthening client relationships and business development.

**Desirable**
- Experience in the Water sector will be highly regarded
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, pricing and regulation, or sector-specific Economics.
