Wherever they look, teenagers are bombarded by messages about what to eat, how to act, how to look, how to please someone and how to be liked. Popular culture, TV programs, magazines, movies and websites dispense information and so-called “advice” to young people at a critical time in their development, when they are still in the process of forming their own attitudes.

Enlighten Education is a multi-award winning, highly successful company that runs in-school seminars. The Enlighten workshops cover everything from helping teenagers discover their own power and sense of self, managing healthy friendships, developing new positive thinking habits; to decoding the mixed messages they receive through media. Enlighten encourages young people to reach their own conclusions and to know their own minds. Rather than telling teens what to do, we focus on informing, inspiring and empowering them. We encourage young people to be discerning consumers, critical thinkers and to find their own voice and power in a complex world.

We need another stellar presenter who will deliver full and half day workshops in schools around Brisbane and throughout the state. Enlighten presenters are ambassadors for Enlighten, the face of our company, and are a vital part of the success of our workshops. You will play a major role in engaging and connecting with students. An amazing Enlighten presenter is passionate about Enlighten, ensures students' learning and experience of the day is long-lasting and memorable, and becomes a role model for students. We are looking for presenters who can genuinely communicate the essence of the Enlighten workshops and are passionate about the content and messages behind the Enlighten programs. You must also be highly engaging, funny, and able to captivate up to 250 teens for 5 hours ( if you have the raw talent, knowledge base and drive, we can show you how).

**Essential qualities**:

- A PASSIONATE commitment to young women and preferably a proven track record of success in communicating, working and connecting with them. You will be an ambassador for Enlighten Education.
- EXCEPTIONAL presentation skills. When you talk - the whole room stops and listens You are funny, warm, genuine, engaging and confident.
- DYNAMIC and creative personality, as you will be presenting at times to large groups of up to 250 young people.
- QUALIFICATIONS or completing studying in an area related to our work i.e: teaching, psychology, gender studies, education, counselling etc. We also love drama school graduates as you know how to engage a large audience.

**Desirable** - your other work is freelance / flexible; you are working part time as a teacher etc. The role is casual and requires travel around Brisbane, Gold and Sunshine Coast and occasional regional travel.

Please note, the position is located in Brisbane working for Enlighten Education Queensland. If you do not have a current teacher registration you must have or obtain a valid Blue Card for working with children (If you are a successful applicant)

**Presenter qualities**
- A strong interest in and passion for empowering and enlightening young women through learning
- A natural presenter/speaker and excellent communicator to the students involved but also to school staff.
- Effervescent personality
- Someone who loves engaging with and mentoring young women of various ages from 11 to 18 years
- We do use humour in our workshops to engage with students - so some performing skills are an advantage
- A passion and commitment for empowering young/teenage women and being a role model
- Be seen to uphold the essence of the Enlighten messages in your own personal life and social media
- An organised person who is punctual, flexible and self-motivated
- Confident with Powerpoint presentation and projection systems.

**Desirable, but not essential**
- Experience working with teenage girls or young people
- Experience or general interest in issues teenagers are facing
- Education, teaching, counselling or psychology background

**Enlighten Presenter role**
- Part time/casual - during school hours
- Due to the nature of this being casual contracting - we endeavour to work around your other work commitments/study where possible - but presenters do need to be in a work/study position to make Enlighten Education a priority
- Schools generally book well in advance, therefore you will normally be given abundant notice to check or re-arrange your schedule if need be
- Becoming an Enlighten Education Presenter does require commitment to be available for initial training and learning all presentations to high standards
