This is a casual role and our office is in Victoria Point Qld. Our Participants are mainly located in the Redlands, Beenleigh, Springwood, Wynnum and nearby suburbs.

As a member of the Applied Abilities team you will be supported, respected and well rewarded for your passion and dedication we offer training (NGO) & advancement as we grow our business.

**Our Disability Extraordinaires will need to be someone -**
- _**Who has experience **_dealing with challenging behaviours
- _**Will get involved**_ - we don't sit on the sidelines and watch our participants doing an activity; we work along side them and do the activity as well ie if participants are swimming then you will be swimming,
- _**That knows what they are doing**_- our participants want to have confidence in you
- _**That can problem solve,**_when a situation occurs (as they do from time to time participants may need assistance to solve their problems.
- _**That can “Assist our Participants”**_, is capable of rationalizing situations, but not overstepping the boundaries.
- **Who knows how to listen**:

- **Who treats a person with** a disability as a “person”, not as a participant.

**Our Extroidanaires must be experienced** within the industry (mental health, disability, youth work, individual care)
- Have experience dealing with challenging behaviours
- Promote and develop independent living skills and community access for adults and teens
- First Aid Certificate and CPR (current)
- Current Open Driver’s license
- Own car and fully comprehensive insurance

T**he successful applicants will be required to hold or be willing to obtain**

NDIS worker screening clearance (Yellow Card), Working with Children Check (Blue Card), a National Criminal History Check,

Pay: $35.00 - $42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 35 per week

**Benefits**:
