**Purpose of the role**

**Responsibilities & Accountabilities**

To provide expert level contribution leading the following capabilities:

- Support the business to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, internal policies, good market practices and Government standards
- Monitor, assess and advise on the implications of legislative changes and assist relevant stakeholders to develop/update internal compliance policies
- Overseeing compliance within the compliance framework to ensure accountability, transparency and legislative compliance
- Implementing education and training initiatives to promote and ensure compliance
- Review and maintain existing policy documents and, where appropriate, develop and implement new policies to achieve compliance objectives
- Oversee QTC’s AML/CTF Framework
- Oversee the compliance registers in QTC’s Governance Risk and Compliance system
- Assist in preparing the periodic compliance reports for the Board and Board Committees
- Actively contribute towards continuous improvement of the compliance framework

**Competencies**

- A proven track record and experience in overseeing compliance risk
- Knowledge of financial sector requirements and practises
- Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills

**Qualifications**

Essential
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or significant equivalent contribution and understanding.

**Experience**

Essential
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in either compliance, legal or risk management or other relevant disciplines that demonstrates overall competency.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including written communications and the ability build confidence in stakeholders
- Good time management and implementation skills, including the ability to implement outcomes aligned to agreed objectives
- Good problem definition and solving skills with the ability to break down problems, and assess the root cause and the right solution

Preferred
- Demonstrated experience in the in the financial services industry or public sector environment.
