**Position Information**:
The NSW Department of Education provides, funds and regulates education services for NSW students from early childhood to secondary school, delivering world-class education through its public schools and providing funding support to non-government schools. We employ, develop and support teachers, leaders and other staff to deliver the best outcomes for students and to advance the wellbeing of Aboriginal people.

**About the Role**

This role is vital to the maintenance and upkeep of departmental schools.

To be successful in the role you will need to have good planning and prioritising skills and good communication skills to work effectively with others.

You will perform a range of tasks relating to the routine maintenance and upkeep of a Departmental School/grounds. The role may assist with the set up and removal of furniture and equipment for school activities. You will identify and report maintenance and safety issues. You will receive, store and distribute supplies and monitor equipment and report faults.

Mount Druitt Public School is located in Western Sydney and is part of the Blacktown Local Government Area. It has a student enrolment of 554. FOEI is currently at 121, a decrease of 6 over the last 10 years. Students come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds with 5% of students identifying as Aboriginal and 70% from English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD). Mount Druitt Public School has three support classes, an Early Intervention Unit and two Multi Categorical classes with a focus on inclusion and challenging students to reach their full potential. Two Preschool classes cater for 40 full time children. Each child is valued and respected as a unique, capable and competent learner and encouraged to participate in play through all aspects of our preschool program.
