Disability Support Worker - Waterford (QLD)

HomeCare Australia is seeking a compassionate and experienced Disability Support Worker to provide high-quality, person-centred support for a 60+ year-old female participant living in Waterford.

About the Participant

The participant lives with her mother and sister and requires support 7 days a week, including sleepover shifts. She lives with multiple disabilities, including:

- Intellectual impairment
- Epilepsy
- Acute OCD
- Thalidomide-related physical impairment

About the Role

Your role will be to provide consistent, empathetic, and person-centred care focused on safety, dignity, and daily living support. Duties may include:

- Assistance with personal care and daily routines
- Medication prompting and seizure awareness
- Emotional and behavioural support
- Household tasks and companionship
- Overnight presence to ensure safety and reassurance

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

- Has experience supporting participants with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities
- Is patient, understanding, and reliable
- Can work respectfully in a shared family environment
- Holds:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- First Aid and CPR- COVID-19 and Influenza vaccinations

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $43.25 - $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week

**Experience**:

- Working with people with developmental disabilities: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Full Driver Licence (preferred)
- Comprehensive insurance (preferred)
- Police check (preferred)
- NDIS Worker screening (preferred)
- Cert3/4 (preferred)
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
