Waterford, Australia Inspirit Independent Support Full time

We require a friendly and compassionate person to provide daily living assistance and community participation support to an autistic lady with an ABI (acquired brain injury).

Support is required throughout the day and on a rare occasion, you may be asked to provide a sleepover shift as a fill-in. This lady is 37 years old, loves her coffees, animals, nature, art and her family. She enjoys driving, cooking, walking and a chat. This lady does have some behaviours that challenge, however full support, supervision, training and buddy shifts will be provided prior to shift commencement.

We are seeking someone who is 100% genuine and confident, who speaks clearly, has a calm, happy and nurturing personality. We particularly seek someone who is empathetic, has respect and who wants to learn about who they support. Preference will be given to someone who is willing to take on further training in areas of ABI, autism and Type 1 diabetes and who shows a committment to fully engage with this lady.

Please note due to health and safety requirements for this person, smoking is not permitted nor will it be tolerated within the home or on the property or within the proximity of this lady at any time.

For this role, you will need:
NDIS worker screening, Police check, full Australian driver's licence with reliable car and car insurance, up to date COVID-19 vaccination status. Evidence of experience within the areas of mental health, ABI, autism, ADHD and complex behaviours is preferred.

You must also have as a minimum:
Current First Aid and CPR, Cert III in Disability or Individual Support or other relevant qualification associated to this industry.

This position will start as casual and will transition to permanent part-time for the right person who can develop a good relationship with this lady.

**Salary**: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
