This company offers customised engineered and manufactured solutions, within their well-equipped and modern jobbing workshop. - Based in Toowoomba, with on-site parking. - An experienced management mentor with opportunities for long-term career growth. - Generous salary package. - About the role:_ Reporting through to the General Manager, this role is suited to someone with a trade background who has an interest in progressing into management. Your responsibilities will include: - Monitoring and managing work/activity in the shop and overseeing the team of employees [20 direct reports]; - Ensuring jobs produced meet quality standards, as well as client specifications; - People management including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and discipline; - Ensuring production deadlines are met; - Working with clients and customers, including initial contact with customers who come to the workshop, providing timeframes and resolving issues; - Ensuring client records and job information are kept up to date in the system; - Repairs (or arranging repairs) of equipment and machinery; - Ordering supplies, ensuring budget is adhered to; - Leading the way with site rules and regulations, including OHS; - Promoting a safety culture; - Identifying areas of continuous improvement and working with the General Manager to implement; and - Organising necessary training for all workshop staff. - About you:_ To be successful in the role, you will ideally have a trade background in a manufacturing related area that could include fabrication, boiler making, fitting/turning or similar. You will also meet the following criteria: - Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on general engineering, fabrication, welding and assembly; - Good leadership skills and people management; - Customer service and interpersonal skills, with an ability to remain calm and professional when addressing conflict; - Possesses detailed knowledge of the machining industry; - Excellent time management and ability to coordinate a team to ensure scheduling is on time; and - A high level of attention to detail. - How to Apply?_ If this opportunity is of interest, please click "Apply" to submit your resume to JP Smith Recruitment & HR by the 7th of December.
