WHAT YOU WILL LEAD AND GROW
- This Supply Chain Planner position will control and co-ordinate the company’s forecasting and purchasing activities to optimise economy in purchase, quality of materials purchased, reliability of supply and timeliness of delivery.
- In addition, this role works closely with finance, customer service, marketing, sales and external warehousing service providers.
- The position will build relationships with internal and external customers as well as within the team and negotiate directly with suppliers with regard to purchase quantities and delivery schedules and will confer with the Financial Director and Managing Director on key decision-making.
- You will liaise with marketing and sales in relation to forecasts, keeping them informed on key stock issues and develop inventory and purchase planning after considering forecasts, batch sizes, lead times and safety stock requirements for various suppliers.
- You will prepare monthly reports on stock obsolescence, near expiry stocks and backorders and organise the approval for write off and destruction of expired and damaged goods.
- You will provide support in setting up and implementation of accounting processes relating to stock recording and accounting and inventory system and provide support in month end and year end accounting procedures relating to purchases, accounts payables and stock.
- You will implement Supply Chain Management Standard Operating Procedure and maintain records to monitor the purchase operation and current inventory levels.
- You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of standard operating procedures and policies and ensure compliance at all times and ensure your company related activities comply with relevant Acts, legal demands and ethical standards.
YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- TAFE or degree qualifications in relevant studies, eg. logistics/supply chain/business.
- Knowledge of SAP.
- Experience in S&OP planning meetings.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role, with a manufacturer.
- Sound knowledge of importation and shipment procedures especially in multinational/multi plan environments.
- Experience in forecasting strategies.
- Experience of direct dealings and negotiations with suppliers/vendors.
