We support individuals with a range of physical and intellectual disabilities to improve their quality of life and achieve the outcomes they want. The support we provide is a collaborative goal oriented personal partnership intended to maximize the choice and control in clients' lives.
As a result of our ongoing operations, we seek the immediate support of a Community / Disability Service Officer to join our team as a leader. This position is permanent, full-time and ongoing, working 38 hours a week in Sunshine VIC.
**Main Duties**:
- Leading a team to improve the quality of life of Gellibrand clients
- Responsible for working within disability service standards and life areas in order to enhance Client quality of life.
- Responsible for the implementation of Client’s person-centred plans. Including but not restricted to individual programs and strategies.
- Responsible for ensuring Client’s basic rights. Clients at all times are accorded privacy, dignity, confidentiality and the opportunities for decision and choice making.
- Responsible for facilitating the development of positive social relationships. Within the local and broader community.
- Responsible for supporting Clients with all aspects of daily living, including but not restricted to personal care, domestic support, social and community support, communication and transport.
- Responsible for supporting Clients to maintain their health and wellbeing.
- Making external referrals to guide a client in their best interest
Other ad hoc duties may also apply, as the need for such arises.
**Skills & Experience**:
- Diploma in Community Services or other relevant course desirable; OR at least 3 years’ work experience in case of no formal qualification.
- Competency to work with appropriate equipment. Including but not restricted to manual handling hoists and equipment.
- Ability to work with people that have an Autism Spectrum Disorder / sensory impairments / behaviours of concern
**Additional Requirements**:
- Availability and willingness to commit to full-time employment;
- Flexibility to work on weekends and public holidays, as required;
- Availability to work 24h shifts with full Personal protective equipment as required;
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts;
- Flexibility to adapt to possible last minute roster changes.

Annual salary will be between $90,000 to $100,000 (plus superannuation) depending on level of skills and experience.
