**About This Role**:
The **Test Technician** performs standard testing processes on a variety of equipment and records and analyses results. Maintains test room equipment and assists in specialized testing.

**Essential Job Functions/Tasks**:

- Performs standard testing processes on a variety of equipment and records and analyses results. Assists in prioritizing test requests and reviewing finished results before distribution.
- Performs a variety of non-routine and non-repetitive mechanical and/or test operations on electrical, pneumatic, or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Determines methods and sequences of operation where complete information is not available.
- In coordination with Design and Manufacturing Engineering, creates and conducts Lumascape Test Methods and Design Verification Testing for New Product.
- Conducts Failure Mode and Root Cause Failure Analysis on Finished Products and communicates results to the respective Engineering discipline.
- Monitors and maintains all test facility equipment.
- Offers mechanical and technical support to the design and engineering teams to ensure accuracy of results.
- Troubleshoots for life cycle testing and documents results.
- Implements established testing procedures for R&D products. Tracks product through all phases of testing until product is approved for production.
- Verifies that all Engineering Change Orders are properly tested (when applicable) and documents those results.
- Assists with occasional assembly of low quantity production.
- Processes receipt of purchased goods, including data entry in an ERP system.
- Supports picking and packing goods for shipping via courier.

**Education/Training Required and Preferred**:

- Associate degree or equivalent technical or industry experience.

**Experience Required and Preferred**:

- Minimum three years of experience in the field or related area.

- Understanding of machines and tools, including their uses and maintenance.
- Requires strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work within a team environment and demonstrate professional behaviour.
- Ability to be reliable, responsible, dependable, and fulfill obligations.
- Excellent attention to detail in completing work tasks.
- Proficiency in the use of computers with the ability to complete data entry, view electronic procedures, and pass training courses.
- Ability to use either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes excluding computers or vehicles.
- Ability to conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
- Knowledge of and ability to use arithmetic. Able to accurately perform intermediate mathematical and statistical calculations and use a weight counting scale.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge using testing equipment, data loggers, multimeters, etc. preferred.
- Experience with using ERP systems preferred.
- Knowledge with using a forklift preferred.
- Knowledge with photometric testing preferred.
