
Sponsored Students Manager

**Purpose of Position**
The Sponsored Students Manager will have oversight of all aspects of student support and experience for sponsored students including academic and pastoral care, admissions and recruitment services at Taylors College.
The position also involves relationship management of the sponsored student region including student recruitment and admissions related activity. Key relationships with external stakeholders include sponsoring bodies, cultural attaché and liaison offices and education agents.
The Sponsored Students Manager will also contribute to international student enrolment targets for TCS programs. The position supports the College’s recruitment activities in market by representing TCS at student recruitment fairs and sponsor events at different times of the year both on and offshore
**Key responsibilities and accountabilities**
- Serve as the main point of contact between college staff, students and their sponsors.
- Monitor the academic progress and attendance of sponsored students and liaise with academic supervisors to ensure timely completion of assessments and student outcomes.
- Coordinate regular group meetings with all sponsored students to discuss issues with relevant staff.
- Identify and coordinate all sponsored students at risk and liaise with all key stakeholders to ensure appropriate support measures are implemented.
- Ensure appropriate communication mechanisms are in place and that information is provided to sponsored students as required regarding course progress and attendance.
- Undertake planning and implementation of events and workshops that facilitate social/cultural transition and/or semester orientation for new sponsored students by liaising with external facilitators and students.
- Provide specialised advisory and referral support to sponsored students.
- Coordinate, implement and manage semester celebration of success/farewell event for sponsored students, including personnel, financial, venue, catering and printing requirements.
- Maintain accurate hard copy and electronic records and ensure that data systems are up to date.
- Liaise with Student Academic Services and Student Success team to generate students’ academic progress reports and distribute information for sponsors, students and college staff as required.
- Network and build strategic relations with relevant internal and external stakeholders, including existing and potentially new national & international clients.
- Identify areas for development and recommend strategies to address the needs of sponsored students and associated organisations to achieve continuous improvement along the student journey
- Contribute to the ongoing development of best practice
- Represent Taylors College at recruitment events and conferences on and offshore.
- Liaise with the Navitas Middle East regional office to ensure a seamless communication with sponsors, students and agents.
- Work with Director of Marketing and Admissions to define the recruitment strategy for sponsored students.
- Undertake other activities which the incumbent might reasonably be expected to do, and which are consistent with the accountabilities and responsibilities as listed above.
**Qualifications**:
**Essential: Knowledge, Experience and Skills**
- Completion of a degree with relevant experience; or extensive experience and broad knowledge in international student administration; an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- High-level numeric literacy and critical thinking
- High level interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills required in Business level English both written and speaking
- Proven ability as a team player
- Ability to demonstrate innovative thinking
- An eye for developing new recruitment initiatives
- Ability to take responsibility for decisions and outcomes
- Flexible attitude to work including a willingness to work weekends and evenings in support of recruitment activities both locally and internationally
- Demonstrated knowledge of issues encountered by international students and identification of support services on and off campus.
- Demonstrated cross-cultural awareness and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with others sensitively and constructively.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and show initiative and produce a professional standard of work.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form to a culturally diverse target audience.
- Proven time-management and organisational skills including a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, proven scheduling/prioritising skills and ability to coordinate projects.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively within a team and independently with the ability to provide guidance to others.
- Experience of working effectively within a matrix structure to ensure competing demands are met
