Job Details: Job Summary: This position performs both routine and complex maintenance duties, whilst following established standards and practices, and is integral in planning maintenance activity as well as deployments with customer personnel. This position works under limited supervision, and liaises regularly with military aircrew. As Our New Technician Air Systems CIS, You Will: - Perform aviation standard soldering, cable & connector repair and bench repair activities - Develop and update technical procedures and documentation - Interpret and produce electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings and network drawings - Identify and analyse equipment malfunctions and utilise various maintenance and repair manuals, test equipment, wiring diagrams, schematics, electronics devices, electrical equipment and verbal instructions to re-work, repair, and test, troubleshoot and maintain equipment - Supervise and coordinate deployment preparations, including: pod shipping and associated commercial invoices and Shipping Memos, liaise with Customs, pack-up, ICADS terrain and airspace files, Mission Line-ups and approved frequency licensing - Liaise with external travel provider to co-ordinate personal travel - Develop flight test plans/procedures for test and evaluation activities; supervising flight test activities - Test Common Modular Pod (CMP) software releases and oversee implementation of CMP firmware updates to the pod fleet. Liaise with Airforce engineers to validate software test and loading - Maintain GPS firmware updates for the ACMI system, including the development and testing of the GPS configuration files. Oversee GPS firmware updates for ACMI pod fleet - Work with engineers to investigate complex issues associated with aircraft pod tracking, component failures and component re-designs. Provide solutions to complex issues - Design, test, and implement approved modifications to the system - Present and demonstrate new ICADS software releases to RAAF aircrew and implement ICADS updates - Supervise pod overhaul activities ensuring a fleet stagger is maintained for pod hanger band replacement - Co-ordinate Logistics and Repairable Item Pipelines to ensure minimum turnaround times of items is observed - Perform maintenance of computers and associated peripherals as required - Maintain records of all support and repair activities in accordance with contractual requirements - Plan and support Live Monitor activities at local and deployed locations. This action involves siting of antennas and masts at remote locations, and establishing a network between pods and the Remote Range Unit (RRU) - Oversee the P5 pod distribution plan for local, deployed and Large Force Engagement (LFE) operations. This requires liaison between all exercise participants from multiple nations - Train military aircrew and ground crew in the system - Operate Link 16/JRE Terminal in support of mission data capture - Comply with Cubic’s Quality Management System - Comply with Cubic"s Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Policies and Procedures - Comply with Security in accordance with established Policies and Procedures of the organisations - Comply with Cubic's Human Resources Procedures - Other reasonable duties as requested To Be Successful In This Position, You Will Possess: - A minimum Cert IV in aeroskills, or equivalent - Eligibility to obtain and hold an Australian Defence Industry security clearance - At least 6 years’ experience in military aviation. This must be completed within an ADF Authorised Maintenance Organisation (AMO), to ensure an underpinning knowledge of ADF Airworthiness Regulatory Requirements - Military experience as a Trade Supervisor, Maintenance Manager or Independent Inspector within an ADF AMO - Knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking - Ability to use PC software such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and databases - Ability to draft and present test reports, and publications amendment recommendations - Ability to lift up to 25kgs The Personal Attributes We're Looking F
