**Your new role**:
In your role as a Support Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for performing scheduled maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair and modification of F35 Ground Support Equipment. You'll be responsible for hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components, at a standard to meet all regulatory and airworthiness requirements and ensure work under your control is performed in a safe, timely and cost effective manner while meeting BAE safety and quality standards. Other duties include:
- Ensure maintenance documentation that is used during maintenance complies with the relevant manual, BAE Systems procedures and customer regulations.
- Correctly and promptly record details of work performed
- Ensure documentation for engineering advice, defect reporting and publication amendments are incorporated as the need arises.
- Report defects, deficiencies and unserviceabilities as they are discovered.
- Carry out maintenance to the delegated and authorised level.
- Initiate quality reporting relating to maintenance tasks.
- Ensure workshop equipment is maintained and operating in the correct manner.
- Hangar and workshop procedures are carried out in accordance with relevant manuals and policies.
**As an applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:
- Trade skills which would allow person to be an authorised GSE Technician
- Certificate III in Fitting/Machining, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical)
- Knowledge of ADF Aircraft Maintenance regulations and procedures (highly desirable)
- Experience with Commercial Air-conditioning Unit Maintenance (desirable)
- Strong focus on maintenance procedures and processes
- Good verbal and written communication
- Identify problems and develop practical solutions to maintenance problems
