**The opportunity**

The position enhances Greater Western Water’s reputation through meaningful, inclusive & transparent customer-focused engagement by co-ordinating communications & engagement strategies, programs & activities across GWW’s capital projects and other strategic initiatives, and advocating for great outcomes for our customers & the community.

Working in a high performing Community Engagement team, the role requires engagement with internal stakeholders, external agencies and the wider community to build strong relationships and develop clear & concise communication and engagement materials that are proactive and customer focused.

**Responsibilities**
- Autonomously develop and implement communications and engagement plans aligned with GWW’s Community Engagement Framework and the IAP2 Core Values
- Develop high-quality, timely and accessible communications material for fact sheets, publications, briefings, presentations, advertising copy, brochures, GWW’s website, social media and other content as required
- Identify, address and if required, escalate internal and external risks that may impact GWW’s operational performance
- Assist with supporting GWW project delivery partners to meet our community engagement expectations
- Participate in community engagement activities outside of normal hours when required

**Skills & Experience**
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing community and stakeholder engagement programs and plans that build community capacity and social license to operate, in accordance with IAP2 Core Values.
- Well-rounded communications skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with and coach others
- Demonstrated ability to identify and manage issues that can impact on organisational reputation or achievement of strategic objectives
- Tertiary qualification in communications, journalism or related discipline, or equivalent experience required
- Experience working within a public sector and/or regulated business will be beneficial
- Experience in community advocacy will be desirable
