About the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre

Founded in 2001, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is Australia’s largest human rights organisation providing support to people seeking asylum. We are an independent not-for-profit organisation whose programs support and empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social well being. We champion the rights of people seeking asylum and mobilise a community of compassion to create lasting social and policy change.
We are a values-driven organisation that strives to be part of a change movement that supports people seeking asylum by providing critical services such as assistance with accommodation, food provisions, casework and legal services.

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced, organised and confident People & Culture Advisor to join the team in this newly-created, part time role.

The P&C Advisor works in a supportive and close-knit team of P&C professionals. The role has been created to support managers lead their teams to improve the engagement, resilience and capability of the workforce.

Working with the P&C team, the P&C Advisor will support the development, delivery and implementation of projects and initiatives that achieve our strategic priorities.

About You
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive and productive relationships with employees and multiple stakeholders in a Human Resources context including effective coaching of managers.
- Extensive professional knowledge and experience of delivering contemporary HR management services, policies and practices including change management; diversity and inclusion; industrial agreements, e.g., awards and enterprise agreements; legislative requirements as applicable to the workplace; HR/ER case management
- A high degree of initiative demonstrated through autonomous approach to delivering results, as well as a highly effective team collaborator.
- Demonstrated change management experience in established work patterns and processes.
- Thorough understanding of people metrics and data, as well as ability to analyse and interpret data to inform decision making.

Lived experience of seeking asylum in Australia is highly desirable. Knowledge of policy and issues impacting on people seeking asylum in Australia would be advantageous.
