**The Role**
Reporting to the Director Corporate Communication, the Web Content Lead is responsible for leadership of the content development and support of the Department’s websites and intranet. As Content Lead, you will oversee all communication content published externally to ensure consistency for the department’s writing style guide.
You will lead a small team of web publishers actively updating, maintaining and working on our portfolio websites and intranet content on a daily basis. You must be able to think quickly, work through problems and provide creative solutions. You’ll be supported by a team of developers and content managers in your immediate team as well as testers, usability experts and communication teams across the Department.
You will need to have proven experience working closely with your colleagues and peers across government to achieve an excellent understanding of the requirements of a project and maintain good, effective working relationships.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the EL1 Web Content Lead may include:
- Leading the content design of the department’s websites and intranet content.
- Providing content governance and strategic advice to internal and external stakeholder to support programs and activities as required.
- Providing relevant information for significant announcements, media releases, content updates and ensure consistent branding and voice.
- Assisting with the implementation of complex, high-profile projects in a dynamic and agile environment.
- Work effectively with multiple stakeholders to gather requirements and propose user focussed solutions.
- Supervising a small team that includes contractors and mentor junior staff.
- Provide support to the Director Corporate Communication.
**Qualifications and Education**
- 5+ years of experience as a Content Strategist, Content Designer, Content Writer or similar Content Specialist field. (Essential)
- 3+ years of experience working on Drupal Content Management System or similar. (Essential)
- 2+ years of experience in managing a team. (Desirable)
- Experience with web technologies including HTML, JavaScript, CSS and PHP. (Desirable)
- Relevant tertiary or professional qualifications are desirable. (Desirable)
