About the Role
- The Interventional Radiology Fellow will learn the basic principles of image guided intervention.
- The Interventional Radiology Fellow will ensure that the Diagnostic Imaging procedures under his/her control are of a high standard and providing written reports on examination for which he/she is responsible.
- Participate in the preparation and presentation of Diagnostic Imaging meetings and Clinical meetings involving Diagnostic Imaging.
- Participate in the training of Radiology Registrars in Diagnostic Imaging and participate in the training of
- Paramedical Staff, Nursing Staff, Administrative Staff and Medical Students, if this is possible, without compromising service requirements.
- Foster and undertake research into areas relevant to Diagnostic Imaging.
- The Fellow will be trained in all facets of Interventional Radiology including fluoroscopically guided vascular, biliary, renal and miscellaneous interventions. Focus will also be placed on learning ultrasound and CT guided techniques.
- The Fellow will also participate in the provision of Diagnostic Imaging Services to the patients of the Princess
- Alexandra Hospital as directed and including:

- Conventional plain film radiology;
- Ultrasound, particularly as it pertains to ultrasound guided procedures;
- Computerised tomography, including biopsy and drainage procedures;
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
- Participate in the provision of an on-call roster to provide emergent radiological services out-of-hours, at night and on weekends.
- Act as a role model to radiology junior doctors through providing example, guidance and direction.
- Follow hospital practices and demonstrate initiative aligned to ensuring the safest possible environment for patients and staff.
- Ensure patients and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
- Commit to patient safety and quality in the delivery of health care by actively participating in safety and quality practices.
