**To be successful you will need**:

- A PhD in bioinformatics, or related biological/biomedical field with a focus on metagenomics or genomics.
- A demonstrated track record of research excellence in bioinformatics as evidenced by publications in highly regarded peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- A demonstrated track record in securing research grant funding relative to opportunity.
- Some teaching/workshop experience in bioinformatics in a variety of face-to-face and/or hybrid and online modes to actively engage and educate undergraduate and post graduate students to ensure student success across the disciplines of genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology or microbiology.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with excellent time management and an ability to work collaboratively as a member of an academic team.
