**Position Information**:
Kanahooka High School is a comprehensive secondary school with a Support Unit which has nine classes, located in Southern Illawarra region. The student population of 655 has been increasing over the last few years. Our school community is culturally diverse with 18% of students identifying as having an Aboriginal background and 5% of students have a non-English speaking background. Students participate in a wide range of learning experiences that focus on academic improvement and excellence.
We make a commitment to prepare young people for rewarding lives as engaged citizens in a complex and dynamic society. This underpins the moral purpose of public education. **Selection Criteria**:
Approval to teach History and Geography Years 7-10.
Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff parents and the wider school community.
Ability to design and implement innovative teaching and learning programs to improve student outcomes.
Demonstrated capacity to work as an effective team member within the HSIE faculty and contribute to whole school programs
Demonstrated understanding of inclusive practices for all students.
