**About the opportunity**

NSW Health Pathology currently has an opportunity available for a permanent part time Medical Laboratory Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to expand on your transfusion knowledge and work in a busy and diverse transfusion laboratory.

You will be joining a team providing the full range of blood products and a comprehensive transfusion testing service to RPA and it's associated facilities. This is a challenging role, requiring an energetic and professional team player. This position will require you to work weekends, public holidays and overnight shifts.

**What you'll be doing**
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of pathology services within a discipline relevant to the department, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems and Quality Systems
- Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner and to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment whilst working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes set to meet client expectations
- Customer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers and patients as well as clinical laboratory staff
- Commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement and to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities
- Availability and willingness to participate in a range of shifts across a 24 hour/ 7 day per week roster, including weekends, public holidays and overnight shifts
