**Position Overview**:
As a Floor and Customer Service Staff member at our newly opened café in the heart of Braddon, your primary responsibility is to provide exceptional service to both local residents and visitors, contributing to the establishment's goal of building a strong customer base. This role encompasses various tasks related to customer service, floor operations, and promoting a welcoming atmosphere within the café.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Customer Engagement and Satisfaction**:

- Greet customers warmly as they enter the café, providing a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
- Assist customers with menu selections, offering recommendations and descriptions of dishes to enhance their dining experience.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and special requests promptly and courteously, ensuring their needs are met efficiently.
- **Order Management and Service**:

- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, utilizing the POS system to input orders and process payments.
- Coordinate with kitchen and barista staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food and beverages to customers.
- Monitor the progress of orders and communicate any delays or special instructions to customers in a proactive manner.
- **Floor Operations and Maintenance**:

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café's dining area, including tables, chairs, and condiment stations, throughout the shift.
- Monitor and restock supplies as needed, including napkins, utensils, and condiments, to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including proper sanitation procedures and adherence to food handling guidelines.
- **Customer Relationship Building**:

- Engage with customers in a personable and attentive manner, building rapport and fostering positive relationships.
- Proactively seek feedback from customers to identify areas for improvement and enhance overall satisfaction.
- Promote loyalty programs, special offers, and upcoming events to encourage repeat visits and customer retention.
- **Team Collaboration**:

- Work collaboratively with colleagues across various roles, including kitchen staff, baristas, and management, to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding customer orders, special requests, and any operational issues or adjustments needed.
- Provide support to fellow staff during peak periods, assisting with tasks as required to maintain service standards and customer satisfaction.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a café, restaurant, or hospitality setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a welcoming and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to customers.
- Knowledge of basic café operations, including POS systems, order taking, and food service.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts mostly morning based on café needs.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $21.97 - $36.84 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
