**$$33.41 - $36.46/hr (depending on skills and experience)**

The position is based in Bentleigh East with travel to Clarinda, Glen Waverley and other locations in the Southern Metro region.

**About the role**

You will make a valuable contribution in the lives of older persons from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds. You will assist frail and older people to participate in community life and feel socially included through structured, group-based activities that develop, maintain or support independent living and social interaction.
- Plan, develop and deliver activities for the participants of the group, for example,
gentle exercise, ball games, celebration of cultural activities, excursions.
- Support clients in developing and reviewing their goals in their care plan.
Empowering them to live in community independently.
- Assist clients with their mobility, i.e. walking or getting on and off the vehicle or with
- Provide personal care to clients such as feeding or toileting as specified in care
plans
- Participate in quality review and continuous improvement process.

**About you**
- Chinese speaking (Mandarin and/or Cantonese preferred), with an understanding of various cultures
- Experience developing programs that are both practical and person-centred
- Knowledge of community aged care services and good understanding of Aged Care
Quality Standard
- Proven ability to work with a team and display flexibility when responding to client
requirements
- Flexible, caring, patient attitude and an ability to work in a professional and proficient manner
- Ability to drive a 12 seater bus would be advantageous

**Qualifications**
- Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- Current Victorian Drivers licence
- Willingness to undertake a national police check and provide evidence of current influenza and full COVID-19 vaccinations is required
