**About the Opportunity**

Operating from within the Revenue Department, you will provide support in the charging of and the collection of Council rates, charges, fees, fines etc.

**These positions are fixed term until 30 June 2026 and 30 September 2026 (respectfully).**

You will be:

- Assisting with ensuring the integrity of the rates system including consistency with the Queensland Valuation and Sales system
- Assisting with levying and collection of Council rates and charges including debt recoveries
- Assisting with completing Council's returns/remittances including Queensland Fire Levy, Rural Fire Levies, Pensioner Remissions etc
- Undertaking daily reconciliation of rates and charge receipts with rates debtors

**About yourself**

A person in this position will need a Certificate III in Business/Finance, OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience. You will also have experience in;
- Interpreting (or ability to interpret) the Local Government Act, Regulation to ensure compliance particularly with respect to rates and utility charges
- Knowledge and experience utilising a range of information systems and software
- Working as a collaborative member of a team in a diverse work environment to achieve positive outcomes
- Ensuring high work standards are maintained, including a strong attention to detail, a focus on continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures
