Automation Technician

This full-time permanent role will play an integral part within Apex Gates projects and long-standing team, responsible for carrying out a variety of autonomous technology installations and site visit, repairs and servicing. We offer the opportunity to work across multiple clients, sites, and locations throughout Perth. Experience in the industry will be an advantage.

**Salary**: $80 to $90 per annum for a 38 -hour week (depending on experience and progress), with regular re-assessments. Future overtime may be possible if desired, once experienced. Salary depending on experience, Full time position.

**Tasks and Duties for a Gate Automation Technician**
- **Reviewing System Drawings and Specifications**: Studying electrical and mechanical drawings and specifications to determine the appropriate materials, equipment, installation methods, and sequence of operations for gate automation systems.
- **Assembling and Installing Components**: Fitting and assembling components such as motors, control panels, sensors, and mechanical parts to build and install automated gate motors.
- **Testing and Calibration**: Inspecting assembled components for accuracy, alignment, and functionality using precision measuring instruments, and making necessary adjustments for optimal performance.
- **Configuring Controls and Settings**: Programming and configuring control systems, including setting up sensors, remote controls, and timers, to ensure proper operation of automated gates.
- **Fabricating and Modifying Components**: Cutting, bending, and fabricating metal or other materials to modify or create custom components for specific gate automation projects.
- **Installing Wiring and Connections**: Running, threading, and connecting electrical wiring and control lines for hydraulic, or motorized gate systems in compliance with safety standards.
- **Diagnosing and Troubleshooting Issues**: Identifying and resolving technical issues in gate automation motors, including mechanical faults, electrical failures, and software errors.
- **Maintenance and Repairs**: Conducting routine operational maintenance and repairs on gate automation motors, replacing or upgrading components as necessary.
- **On-Site Installation and Setup**: Erecting, installing, and configuring automated gate motors on-site, ensuring they meet client specifications and operational requirements.

- Current WA driver’s licence.
- A minimum of 1 year experience in automatic doors, gates or roller doors is desirable, however applicants that can demonstrate transferable skills will also be considered.
- Certification III or equivalent qualification or 3 years work experience in lieu of qualification.
