**Disability Support Worker - Day Shifts (Morning & Afternoon)**

**Location**: Lindfield, NSW, 2070 **Employment Type**: Permanent Part-time (30-40 hours per week) **Shifts**: Morning (approximately 5:00am-11:00am) and Afternoon (approximately 3:00pm-10:00pm) **Salary**: Up to $100,000 per year (pro-rata)

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Disability Support Worker, ideally with a nursing degree or Registered Nurse qualification, to assist with the care of a young girl with complex medical needs. This position involves working closely with the family in a home-based environment to provide consistent and attentive support.

The participant is non-verbal and has high physical support needs. She requires full assistance for daily activities and medical care, including enteral feeding via a PEG tube, tracheostomy management, medication administration, and all personal care. She is transferred using a hoist and requires close supervision and support at all times.

**Shift Structure**:

- **Morning shift**: Support with morning routines, medical care, and school preparation. You will also accompany the participant during school transport (a driver is provided; your role is supervisory).
- **Afternoon/Evening shift**: Support from school pick-up through evening care routines.
- Flexibility is available to work either or both shifts.
- Two days per week are covered by an existing staff member; remaining days are available for new staff.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide personal care and hygiene support
- Administer medication as prescribed
- Manage PEG feeding and tracheostomy care
- Use appropriate manual handling techniques and hoist transfers
- Assist with daily routines, including dressing, bathing, and mobility
- Monitor the participant’s health and respond to any medical needs
- Work collaboratively with the family and allied health professionals
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the care team and family.

**Requirements**:

- Nursing degree or RN qualification (preferred)
- Experience working with clients with high medical support needs
- Proficient in using hoists, managing PEG feeding, and tracheostomy care
- Valid Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work respectfully within a family home environment.
