Mechanical Fitter/Valve Technician

We are a comprehensive mechanical services business specialising valve services, engineering and machining. Due to our growth throughout our Australian Operations we are currently seeking permanent and casual trade qualified fitters/technicians/machinists experience on heavy industrial projects.

Job Responsibilities:

- To function, test, strip & assess equipment both in the workshop & on site to evaluate the required scope of works for overhaull
- To accurately document information in the relevant job cards that allows for effective engineering assessments & quotations to be completed
- To reassemble all types of equipment correctly as per the OEM’s instructions.
- To perform Hydrostatic and Gas testing as per procedures of various valve types and equipment
- To ensure that all work has been completed, inspected and signed off before passing on to the next operation.
- The ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision and delegate work responsibilities as instructed by management and specifically the Workshop Coordinator.
- To assist in the continual improvement of production efficiency, improvement in lead times, and reduction of waste.
- To assist in ensuring the workshop remains a clean and safe working environment with input into the company performance against the annual HSE Plan.
- To maintain and care for all equipment, tooling and machines used.
- Assist in the training of workshop apprentices
- General housekeeping including cleaning of workshop

Qualifications Required:

- Trade qualified - Mechanical
- Pre-employment medical
- Current driver’s license

Preferred
- Proven mechanical aptitude and capability to deliver quality work.
- Strong work ethic and demonstrated commitment to safety.
- Ability to work in an adaptable team and use own initiative.
- Track Record of being attentive to accuracy and detail in their work.
