We are currently seeking a Community Mental Health Manager at Katungul Aboriginal Corporation Regional Health and Community Services (Katungul) is a leadership role responsible for providing expert oversight and direction in the development of community based mental health activities, engagement and services to enhance and embed cultural ways of being and doing support through trauma informed practice.

This role plays a critical role in ensuring Katungul's effective holistic mental health management services to improve health outcomes founded on evidence based best practices, clinical expertise, health service modelling, embedded in a Kinship approach to ensure culturally appropriate and competent health services for community, and with community. This role merges both integrated care, traditional knowledge and practices with a hybrid approach to empower and strengthen community wellbeing with tools, skills and opportunities to heal, connect and lead through self-determination.

Main duties and responsibilities

**Strategic management**
- Develop business plans to meet the objectives of Katungul in line with the Katungul Model of Care.
- Develop Annual Workplans for teams and reporting templates to manage and monitor performance.
- Ensure all programs are delivered to meet funded targets and that all reporting requirements are completed.
- Represent Katungul in negotiations, with relevant funding bodies relating to community mental health and community advocacy forums.
- In consultation with the Senior Management team, prepare funding submissions for new services and programs.
- Assist with the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, and practices.
- Provide innovation, collaboration in how to improve community mental health from a grass roots approach

**Financial Management**
- In conjunction with Senior Management develop and oversee program service budgets and plans for your service functions.
- Analyse, manage and report against approved budgets.
- Approve purchases in accordance with program budgets.

**Program Management**
- Ensure Katungul is appropriately staffed and equipped to provide high quality Community Mental Health services.
- Ensure integrity of case management systems, data collection and processes aligned with best practice, research and community knowledge.
- Initiate and coordinate service and program development.
- Negotiate as appropriate the provision of services by external professionals.
- Monitor and review service performance regularly and provide training and support for staff and teams.
- Report to the Senior Social and Emotional Wellbeing Manager performance of programs and teams and contribute to Board and governance reports.
- Lead the design and scope of services in line with community capacity, skills, needs and desired outcomes in collaboration with internal staff, clinicians and key stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops and mentor and support staff to build capacity of services and scope of activities to improve service access, quality and range.

**Records Management**
- Ensure adequate and appropriate client and other records are maintained
- Ensure all staff are effectively trained in management of client records using a computer-based records system.
- Develop and implement new systems and processes to improve records management and contribute to continuous improvement.

**Quality Improvement**
- Ensure staff maintain continuous quality services, which are responsive to community needs.
- Encourage staff to report any quality improvement issues.
- Implement measures, policies and procedures which meet accreditation and risk assessment requirements.
- Support coordination and contribution to accreditation processes and development of procedures and systems to support continuous improvement.
- Respond appropriately to all quality improvement issues raised by management and staff or identified through other monitoring mechanisms.
- Participate in external review requirements such as accreditation and risk management to enhance continuous quality improvement.
- Lead cultural capacity activities and design of integrated community mental health activities in collaboration with Senior Management, the CEO and community.

**Maintain Internal and external relationships.**
- Develop, organise and lead community consultations on service development, planning and service updates.
- Convene regular organisational Staff Meetings to ensure all program staff are informed.
- Develop strong working relationships with funding bodies and other service providers.
- Attend and represent Katungul at external forums as required and in accordance with the overall mission and objectives of the organisation at external forums
- Liaise with community to develop and lead community engagement activities and development of cultural programs tailored to community needs
