**About the Centre**

Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre is part of Active Moreland, which is owned by the City of Moreland and run by YMCA Victoria. With a seasonal outdoor 50 metre pool, learners pool, splash pad and play pool, two large water slides, from October 1 through to April 30 the centre is thriving with the community. Oak Park also has an all year round 24/7 accessible health club and state of the art Group Fitness studio and Virtual studio.

**About the role**

The Aquatic Programs Team Leader is a pivotal role within Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre and its leadership team. As the Aquatic Programs Team Leader you will directly oversee the recruitment, training and ongoing development and performance of the Swimming Lesson Teachers. This role also encompasses the coordination and delivery of school swimming lessons, school carnivals, swim lessons, birthday parties, overseeing the summer events across Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre, as well coordinating the School Holiday Swim Lesson Program, and all other aquatic bookings. While also look to implementing new aquatic programming such as squads, water running, stroke correction and water aerobics. You will also be required to liaise with local sporting and community groups in order to maximise usage of aquatic areas.

You will need to posses and maintain a complete knowledge of all aspects of teaching swimming and water safety and is committed to training, mentoring and supervising swim teachers and birthday party hosts.

In this role you will from time to time assist in other areas of the facility including but not limited to; lifeguarding, Duty Management, customer service and dry programming. You will play an instrumental role in promoting Watch our Water policy and educating staff and patrons.

This is a fixed term part time role (0.8 FTE) with an hourly rate of $28.47 - $29.08 + super. You will need to be available to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings and weekends in line with the centres operating hours.

**Qualifications & Experience**
- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety
- First Aid Certificate
- CPR Certificate
- PUAOPE010C Defibrillator (AED)
- Previous leadership experience is essential
- Tertiary qualifications in Sports Management, Business Management, or other related field will be highly regarded

**Other Desirable Qualifications**
- Pool Lifeguard Certificate
- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Access and Inclusion
- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Competitive Strokes
- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Adults
