**Introduction**:
St Nicholas Pathways is an agency of the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle that has been developed to excite, engage and support those in the community who want to explore a career in early childhood education and care through a range of programs and study options.
To be successful in the position you will be self-motivated, have a passion for early childhood education and provide exceptional service in all undertakings of training and assessing.
This position will be based out of Maitland Pathways and will work in the Maitland and Upper Hunter Region.
**Description**:
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Trainer and Assessor role will be an active member of the St Nicholas Pathways team and will play an instrumental role in enhancing the learning outcomes for St Nicholas Pathways trainees and students. Primarily the role will be responsible for the work place training and assessment of the following positions;
- Early Childhood Educator Certificate III CHC30113
- Early Childhood Educator Diploma CHC50113
- School Based Apprenticeship Traineeship (SBATS) Certificate III CHC30113
This role also includes;
- Facilitating training in a variety of environments including face to face and virtual
- Implementing the policies and associated procedures of St Nicholas at all times
- Developing strong relationships with St Nicholas Early Education and OOSH Services
- Developing strong relationships with St Nicholas trainees and Pathways students
- Developing strong relationships with external stakeholders
**Skills and Experiences**:
EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
According to the National Standards, the Trainer and Assessor must have;
- Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed
- Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided
- Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs their training and assessment
- The ability to deliver feedback in a supportive manner that is appreciative of different learning styles to ensure transfer of learning
- Previous Experience in a similar role within the Early Childhood industry (Desirable)
- Previous Experience in Vocational Education and Training across assessment creation / validation and workplace assessment. (Desirable)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or as specified by the standards
- Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent
- Child protection qualification
- Working with Children Check qualification number
- Driver’s License
