**About the Victorian School Building Authority**

The Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) is part of the Department of Education. Established in 2016, it oversees Victoria's largest school building program since the state introduced free public education in the 1870s.

The VSBA upgrades and expands existing schools and plans, designs and builds new schools to meet enrolment demand. We also support schools to maintain their buildings and grounds by offering expert advice and coordinating maintenance programs and grants.

With Victoria recently introducing two years of funded kindergarten, the VSBA is also working with the early childhood sector on a massive kindergarten construction program.

**About the Division**

**_ Strategy and Planning Division_**

**_ Early Childhood Infrastructure Strategy and Planning Branch_**

The ECIP Strategy and Governance Branch collaborates with other branches in the VSBA and the Department to lead the strategic implementation of the infrastructure components of the early childhood reforms. This branch plays a crucial role in analyzing areas to identify where kindergarten infrastructure is required to meet demand as well as in identifying sites and planning acquisition of land to support the implementation of the Best Start Best Life (BSBL) reforms. The branch is also responsible for land strategy and the enabling strategic environment for the BSBL program including the developing the necessary legislative and statutory planning framework.

The Governance and Co-Ordination unit sits withing the Strategy and Planning Branch and is responsible for managing and leading key early childhood infrastructure functions, including regular reporting to Ministers, strategic coordination of key governance committees, and leading the reform narrative and priority projects to support the Strategy and Governance, State Projects and Sector Partnerships branches' role in the implementation of the government's Early Childhood reform agenda.

**About the Role**

Reporting to the Manager, Governance and Strategic Integration, the project advisor supports the effective administration of the branch, and works with the Manager, Governance & Strategic Integration to:

- provide Governance support to the Branches including working with stakeholders across the organisation to understand all governance requirements (dates, templates etc)
- provide input into key reporting tasks, such as for regular ministerial and governance meetings
- provide support for the VSBA component of the PAEC process for Early Childhood infrastructure
- support the strategic management of resourcing across the three branches of Early Childhood Infrastructure Planning in the VSBA
- support building key messages / key lines for the programs of work across the three branches in Early Childhood Education infrastructure, providing consistency and integrity for the content
- support the work for culture and learning across the three branches (such consistent induction, Learning & Development, sharing knowledge).

The program advisor works collaboratively in a team to support the smooth running of the branch. The Program Advisor has strong stakeholder engagement skills, a customer service focus, and project delivery skills to support delivery of key programs.

**Desirable **Qualifications and Experience**
- Desirable: Bachelor degree in a related field and demonstrated experience in a similar role in Government
