**About the role**

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate
**Family Support Worker** to join our team working across
**Inala with travel required to Lowood, Acacia Ridge and Laidley**,
**working 60.8hrs per fortnight.**

The Children & Parenting program provides short term, early intervention outreach case management to families in need of support. The service works with families to identify goals and to develop a plan to work towards these goals. In addition, the service provides group work for parents/caregivers/ supporting family members, children and youth to help them build their wellbeing, resilience, knowledge and skills. This is a highly rewarding role where you will have a direct impact on people’s lives.

If you have a background in either case management, mental health support, counselling, facilitating group sessions - particularly with children, young people and families which promote mental health and wellbeing, then we want to hear from you

**About you**

To help us to continue to provide the highest quality services to those in our communities, we are looking for someone with:

- Previous experience in case management and delivering therapeutic support to parents, children and families
- Background in development and delivery of group work programs for parents, families, children and young people
- Demonstrated ability to work in a child-focused and whole of family framework
- Able to work within established processes and positively engage with clients in a supportive role
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to consult, advise and liaise effectively with a diverse range of people including Cultural and Linguistically Diverse and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Organisational and time management skills, able to meet conflicting priorities and deadlines
- Capacity to work independently, use initiative and also be an effective team member

**Essential Requirements**
- A current National Police Check
- A current Blue Card Queensland (working with children check)
- A current QLD Drivers Licence and own reliable Vehicle
- Current COVID-19 Vaccination certificate
- Diploma in Youth Support, Family Intervention, Mental Health or similar field
- Ability and willingness to work outside of regular hours and travel within the service region.
