About us
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.
The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the role
This role undertakes assessments and brief, post-release case planning to people on remand who present with a range of complex needs to support their transition back into the community.
**In this role you will**:
- Provide assessment and brief, post-release case planning to people on remand with multiple risks and needs.
- Identify client risks and develop risk management and/or harm minimisation strategies in relation to these risks.
- Access, coordinate and monitor the delivery of a range of treatments and supports for clients, including housing, alcohol/drug treatment, family violence interventions and mental health treatment.
- You will be based at a Western Metropolitan based Prison.
- Travel to other prisons in the region or other CSS locations may be required.
About you
- Tertiary qualification (minimum Diploma level highly desirable) related to case management practice with forensic clients; such as social work, psychology, welfare, drug and alcohol or another related field and/or relevant experience.
- Assessment, Referral and Case Planning experience in engaging and working with clients with complex needs.
- Demonstrated ability at building collaborative relationships with external stakeholders.
- Strong team player with effective communication skills and a flexible approach.
