Operations Supervisor

To be successful in this role, you will need to have strong leadership and management skills, as well as experience rostering staff, and managing absenteeism replacements, and continuously improving the business through a structured approach.

In this leadership role, the Operations Supervisor will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:
- Managing daily distribution activities to ensure that people and equipment levels meet service requirements and are employed efficiently- Responsible for a structured approach to continuously improve the business- Ensuring health and safety are paramount and responsibilities are effectively communicated throughout the team- Leading and developing the positions of direct reports to ensure effective service delivery and succession planning- Reviewing labour requirements and adjusting to suit service and overall business requirements- Ensure time critical freight is shipped or unpacked in time to meet delivery requirements in Tasmania and South Australia.- Managing competing priorities and adjusting to changing conditions- Monitoring fatigue management and load restraint.- To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A proven track record in a leadership capacity within transportation and logistics- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints effectively.- Proficiency with computers and relevant software, such as scheduling and dispatch systems.- Ability to work with overlapping shifts, and staff members therein- Flexibility in daily tasks, including cross-training in other supervisory responsibilities- A comprehensive understanding of HSE and legislative requirements within transportation

Working hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 15:00.
